Hawthorn ruck Ned Reeves has recommitted to the club for a further three years, keeping him in the brown and gold until at least the end of 2029.

Since being recruited to the club in the 2019 pre-season supplemental selection period, the 210cm big man has featured in 43 games and kicked 11 goals in the brown and gold.

The 27-year-old was the most dominant ruckman in the VFL across his 17 appearances for Box Hill in 2025.

He was named as the starting ruck in the VFL Team of the Year after averaging 38 hitouts and 14.6 disposals per game, as well as kicking 15 goals for the year.

Reeves racked up more hitouts than any other opposing ruck in each game he featured in this season.

Hawthorn National List and Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie said Reeves was an important piece of the club’s future.

“Ned has always been a crucial part of what we’re building towards and we are delighted to lock him away for a further three years,” McKenzie said.

“With a strong body of work already under his belt at AFL, Ned has shown his capacity to compete with some of the league's best rucks.

“At 27 years of age, Ned is reaching the peak of his powers and we are confident his best footy is ahead of him in the next few years.”
