Hawthorn is proud to unveil the names of its newest Life Members, as announced at Monday’s 2025 Annual General Meeting.
First honoured in 1924, Life Membership was introduced to recognise the outstanding contribution of players with more than 10 years of service or 150 games with the club, and to officials, support staff, trainers and administrators who had given exceptional service.
JEROME LYFORD
Jerome Lyford represents the embodiment of dedication, loyalty, and exceptional service to the Hawthorn Football Club.
Over his remarkable 24-year tenure, beginning in January 2002, Jerome has been instrumental in securing the Club's long-term financial stability and growth.
During his more than two decades at Hawthorn he has contributed more than $150 million in value through his strategic partnerships, sponsorship achievements, and foundation work.
His unwavering commitment to the Club's success, combined with his exceptional relationship management skills and leadership qualities, makes him a worthy recipient of Life Membership.
ANDREW HORKINS
Andrew Horkins’ loyalty to Hawthorn spans almost three decades, working as a passionate volunteer, including his role as Head Trainer for the past two seasons.
Having begun his journey in the brown and gold as a boot-studder in 1997, Horkins dedication to the Club has extended across both AFL and AFLW programs, in addition to attending the HFC Academy Squad for the past 10 years as trainer.
Known for his humble and hard-working nature, he has long been a popular member of the football department and is highly sought after among the playing cohort for his professional masseuse services, combined with a humorous chat.
BRUCE BELL
For several decades, Bruce Bell has selflessly worked behind the scenes to help set Hawthorn players up for their future beyond football providing career and life advice.
Beginning his association with the club in April 1966, Bell’s guidance has been for generations of players.
With Hawthorn always at the forefront of his mind, Bell's connection to the club also saw him help organise several Club auctions, raffles, Family Days and special events.
Having been a life-long Hawks supporter since the age of five in primary school, Bell’s pride to have served for the Club he adores has been evident in every Hawthorn person he has helped along the way.
