Hawthorn wishes to congratulate former Brownlow Medallist and three-time Peter Crimmins Medallist Tom Mitchell on an outstanding career, after the former Hawk announced his retirement on Wednesday night.
The 32-year-old played 106 games for Hawthorn from 2017 to 2022, after being traded to the Club from the Sydney Swans.
While wearing the famous brown and gold, Mitchell stamped himself as one of the competition's premier midfielders, claiming multiple awards.
The star on-baller won three Peter Crimmins Medals in 2017, 2018, and 2021, in addition to becoming a Brownlow Medallist and winning the Leigh Matthews Trophy in 2018.
Mitchell was also recognised as a dual All Australian, named in the coveted team in 2017 and 2018.
In addition to his time at Hawthorn, Mitchell played 65 games for Sydney and 36 for Collingwood, featuring in the Magpies' 2023 premiership side.
Hawthorn would like to thank Mitchell for his contribution to the Club and wish him and his family all the best in their next chapter.
