In his 19th season Burgoyne showed no signs of slowing down.

The 36-year-old finished the year on 379 games and is the oldest active AFL player.

Burgoyne played 18 games across the year missing just rounds 3-6 with a hamstring injury.

Playing in multiple positions, Burgoyne again showed why he is renowned for his classy skills and competent decision-making averaging 16 disposals a game at 78 per cent efficiency.

His best matches came towards the end of the season in rounds 18-20 when he claimed the AFL’s indigenous games record taking over from the Swans’ Adam Goodes who previously held the record on 372 games.

In Round 19 when he equalled the record Burgoyne kicked two goals and had 18 disposals against the Lions down in Hobart. The next week when he broke the record he had 23 disposals and seven marks.

Burgoyne finished the season on a high kicking three goals against the West Coast Eagles.
