The 2020 AFLW season has reached the halfway point, with nine players who donned the brown and gold in the 2019 VFLW season taking the field throughout its fourth week of play.

Although it remains unclear which players will return to Hawthorn ahead of the VFLW season, we’ve taken a look at each potential Hawk’s performance from the AFLW’s Round 4.

 Chantella Perera – West Coast

Perera finally had the chance to celebrate victory alongside her Eagles teammates when they defeated the Western Bulldogs on Saturday. In their inaugural win, Perera was strong in West Coast’s defence, holding the Bulldogs off from scoring in the dying minutes of the game to claim the win.

Talia Radan – West Coast

Radan sung the West Coast song for the first time in the Eagles’ four-point win over the Bulldogs. Radan’s ability to stifle the Bulldogs’ forwards in the final quarter helped her side over the line, proving her ability to face up against strong AFLW opposition.

Rebecca Beeson – GWS

Beeson was named in the Giants’ best for the second time this season, collecting 12 disposals. The midfielder’s strength through the centre wasn’t enough to get GWS over the line, going down to the undefeated Lions by 28 points.

Phoebe McWilliams – Geelong

It was a happy Saturday for McWilliams as her side won their first game of the season, defeating Richmond by 22 points. The half-forward collected 13 disposals and showed off her ability to take a strong mark, putting herself in Geelong’s best.

Rosie Dillon – St Kilda

Despite the one-point loss the Saints endured, Dillon had a stellar day out at RSEA Park, producing her most impressive performance yet. The inside mid was named in St Kilda’s best, having registered 18 disposals, the highest of all players on the day, alongside seven tackles.

Jordan Membrey – Collingwood

Collingwood suffered a disappointing 20-point loss to Melbourne on Saturday. Membrey (five disposals) went up against a strong Demons side, who kept the lead for the duration of the match.

Laura McClelland – Richmond

Having played predominantly in defence while at the Hawks, McClelland has made a transition to the forward line at Richmond playing at centre-half-forward on Saturday. In what was a tough game against Geelong, McClelland kicked one goal with four disposals.

Pepa Randall – GWS

Randall, alongside teammate Beeson, suffered a 28-point loss to the undefeated Lions. Despite Randall’s best efforts down back, Brisbane’s forwards were too good on the day, kicking seven goals to the Giants’ three.
