Round 14 sees the Hawks and Bombers face-off on Red Nose Day.

The Hawks are encouraging fans to support the SIDS and Kids’ major fundraising event, Red Nose Day, by purchasing a red nose or donating their change outside gates 1 and 4 at the MCG before the Hawks v Bombers clash on Friday night.

Children from SIDS and Kids Victoria will be forming the guard of honour at the game as well as taking part in a goal-kicking competition on-field prior to the match.

SIDS and Kids Victoria are funded through the generosity of the Victorian public, who offer services to approximately 400 Victorian families each year whose child has died suddenly and unexpectedly. There is also a 24-hour help line staffed by grief counselors and trained parent supporters.

“We support research into the causes of SIDS and stillbirth which is a focus for the 2011 campaign,” CEO of SIDS and Kids Victoria Karen Passey said.

“SIDS and Kids Victoria receive hundreds of calls annually to our free 24-hour bereavement support line. Our bereavement services can only continue with the generous ongoing support of the Victorian community.”
