Head of Development Sam Mitchell has run his eye over the performances of the six AFL-listed Hawks who played in the reserves match against the Western Bulldogs on Wednesday.

Check out what he had to say below.

Match report: Hawks victorious over Dogs at the kennel

Finn Maginness

"Finn got a fair bit of the footy on the day. He is still finding his way in our midfield system though. He is very good in offence - he is very strong through the body at breaking tackles which is good to see. He had a solid influence on the game."

Ned Reeves

"The stand-out performer of the game was Ned Reeves. He took four big, strong contested marks and he was the dominant big man on the field. He made his presence felt in the air, but he was also able to lay some strong tackles at ground level which rounded out his game nicely."

Michael Hartley

"Harts controlled the backline well. His penetration with his kicking was a stand-out. He was able to start scoring chains from his own boot in the defensive half, including one goal that eventuated from one of his long kick-ins up the middle."

Josh Morris

"He nailed a tackle in the second quarter which was a team highlight for the day. Playing predominantly forward, he is continuing to develop his craft. He has recently re-joined contact training so his match conditioning will continue to improve over the coming weeks."

Conor Nash

"Nashy ran some really strong patterns. With the windy conditions as well as the skinnier ground that Whitten Oval is, it was difficult for him to get into the play at times. But he had a strong team-focussed role, and he played that well without being a stand-out."

Emerson Jeka

"Jeka's stand-out moment was a strong tackle, which he followed up with a second and third effort through the middle of the ground. In a tough ball movement day for key forwards, he struggled to have an impact."
