Former number one draft pick Jonathon Patton joined the Hawks ahead of the 2020 season. Patton is a big forward from Rowville in Victoria with a massive on-field presence, speed and an ability to take outstanding contested marks. Patton’s playing style has been likened to Brisbane great, Jonathan Brown. He was drafted to GWS with pick one in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft. Two serious knee injuries curtailed his career early before he showed the competition what he's capable of with hauls of 38 goals and 45 goals in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Despite a third knee reconstruction keeping him out of the game for the last 18 months, Patton is fit and firing and will be hoping to make a quick impression in his new colours.
