What the club said:

Speaking on the AFL.com.au’s Draft Radio on Friday, Hawthorn National List and Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie said the club was aiming to head into the draft with a talent-first mindset.

“We don’t want to over complicate things too much and go reaching for certain areas of the ground,” McKenzie said.

“We feel like there is some great talent there in this year’s draft crop – there's probably a few more midfielders compared to previous years, but from our end we’ll still go from the talent end of things.

“We’ve got a few options and a bit more assets than we have had in the past (to strengthen our draft hand) too.”
