Be there from 11am to enjoy all the FREE family fun with face painters and hair spray styling at entrance gates, and free KFC go-buckets around the concourse at the MCG. We’ll also have Hawka and Hawkette, plus their friend the Sherrin, roaming around for high-fives and photos up until the first bounce!
We will also be celebrating the first day of NAIDOC Week and our pre-game will feature a special Welcome to Country Ceremony by an elder wth a smoking ceremony, followed by a dance performance by Traditional Aboriginal young men's dance group, the Small Ant Brothers.
This weekend's match will be our second Dare to Hope Match in partnership with Pancare Foundation, to raise awareness and funds for Dare to Hope: Paul Dear Pancreatic Cancer Fund. Despite Paul's untimely passing last year, this match will proudly carry his legacy and with a new initiative this year - the Bay of Hope.
Each year, more than 3500 Australians are devastated by the loss of a loved one to pancreatic cancer. Our Bay of Hope this weekend offers a hear-warming tribute as we honour those we have lost with personalised silhouettes in the stands.
