Hawthorn has farewelled Changkuoth Jiath after he was traded to Melbourne on the final day of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.
The deal sees Jiath depart the Hawks in exchange for the Demons’ 2025 second-round selection (currently Pick 42), as well as a future fourth-round selection (2026).
Jiath played 76 games for Hawthorn across seven seasons after originally being recruited as a Next Generation Academy selection during the 2018 Rookie Draft.
Hawthorn National Recruiting and List Manager Mark McKenzie acknowledged Jiath’s contribution to the brown and gold.
“On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank Changkuoth for his service to Hawthorn, his enthusiasm and dedication never wavered during his time with us – we wish him all the best in his next chapter,” McKenzie said.
“By securing this deal we are pleased to add another selection to our hand.”
