2025 Hawthorn recruit Najwa Allen is set to suit up for her 50th AFLW match on Friday night when the Hawks host North Melbourne at Kinetic Stadium, Frankston.

The 31-year-old arrived at the Hawks at the end of the 2024 AFLW season, following 45 appearances over six seasons for the Adelaide Crows.

The Canberra product has brought plenty of experience in the brown and gold, having won a premiership with the Crows in Season 6, 2022.

So far, Allen has played four games for Hawthorn, having been sidelined with a hamstring injury between Rounds 3 and 11.

Despite the injury setback, Allen continued to showcase her leadership as the young Hawks surged towards their second straight finals appearance.

In her return to the field last week, she was moved to the forward line after spending most of her career in defence, highlighting her versatility and willingness to play whatever role is required for the team.

Hawks fans will certainly be eager to see her not only run out for her 50th game on Friday night, but also attempt to kick her first goal in AFLW during the milestone occasion.

Speaking to 3WBC ahead of the match, Allen reflected on her journey to 50 games.

"I'm really excited," she said.

"I spent a long time out with injury this year and last year.

"There have been a few times when I thought I was going to get to 50, and then injury took it away a little bit.

"It's going to be amazing to actually reach that milestone because there were some times where I thought maybe I won't.

"You get to do something amazing that's going to stick in your memory your whole life, and you get to do it with your friends, so that's going to be pretty special."
