During the free agency and trade periods and at the 2014 National and Rookie Drafts, Hawthorn welcomed eight new players to the Club, with five joining the primary list and three the rookie list.

Over the Christmas period, hawthornfc.com.au is giving you the chance to get to know the Club’s new players on both a football and personal level.

What are your strengths: My speed and my one-on-one body work

What can you work on: Hawthorn are a very good kicking side so I want to keep improving my kicking to get ready to play most games and when there’s an option there, get ready to hit it.

Team supported growing up: My uncle ‘Spud’ (Danny Frawley) played at St Kilda so I spent most weeks down there with my old man.

Childhood or current sporting hero (non-AFL): Maybe as a kid Batman haha.

AFL hero: I used to love Robert Harvey – I had a bit of a child crush on him. I absolutely idolised him.

Favourite meal: Definitely love lasagne

What is your pump-up song before games: I don’t really have a go-to song but I guess I also don’t really listen to music too much before a game. In the car on the way to the ground I pump it up a bit but in the actual rooms I don’t listen to music, I just sort of chill out in the corner and take my own time.

Favourite band or performer: That’s a good question…at the moment I like City and Colour.

Best band or performer you’ve seen live: I’d probably say City and Colour is up there and also London Grammar who I saw recently. They were pretty good.

Favourite TV show: I love Sons of Anarchy and Breaking Bad…I’m actually just finishing that now. It’s pretty intense.

Favourite character in a TV show and why: I used to love the Simpsons and Bart because he was a bit of a menace. In Modern Family I love Phil Dunphy, he’s a funny old man.

What are your hobbies: I like playing golf even though I’m a bit of a hack at it; I still like going out there and having a swing. I also like to do some property stuff. I have a little dog too – so I like taking him for a walk and chilling out with him.

What is your signature dish: I’m not really a cook. It’s nice and simple for me. The night before a game I have apricot chicken…it’s pretty boring.

Food you miss most during the season: When I was a kid I used to love Maccas and all that stuff…and also vanilla slice. I used to love that at school – I had them almost every day, I don’t know how I was still skinny. I might have to get back on that diet haha.

What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time: Definitely play golf and just hanging out with my little dog Frankie, taking him down to the dog park. It’s very relaxing.

Favourite movie and why: I love Dumb and Dumber – there are so many classic, funny lines and puns in the movie. It’s just a crack up every time I watch it, which is probably about 50 times! I crack up every time I watch it, I love it!

Dream holiday destination: I love New York, New York is awesome. Also Croatia – there are so many places there with a lot of history and there’s always lovely weather over there. I’ve only been there once but I’d love to go back.

Best country or city you have visited and why: Probably the two I just said but also Munich. Those three are up there.

Chocolate or vanilla: It depends…but I’ll go vanilla.

Fruit or vegetables: Fruit

iPhone or Android: iPhone

PlayStation or Xbox: I’ve done a bit of a clanger there because all the boys here at Hawthorn are PS4’s and I went out on a limb thinking it might be Xbox so I went out and bought one…I’m playing by myself now so that’s fun.

Cats or dogs: Dogs definitely

Summer or winter: Summer. Love to get a bit of a tan and get to the beach.

What are your goals for 2015: I want to get to know the guys around here as best I can and have fun playing footy and of course, try to win some games!
