Cam Mackenzie has put pen to paper on a new deal at Hawthorn, ensuring he remains in the brown and gold until at least the end of 2028.
The talented young midfielder’s two-year extension comes amid his strongest start to a campaign to date, with career-best numbers across the board in 2026.
In his fourth season at AFL level, the 22-year-old is thriving on more opportunities in the middle of the ground, averaging just shy of 20 disposals per game, including 5.3 score involvements and 3.4 clearances.
Having only just surpassed 50 games earlier this year, the former top 10 pick continues to established himself as a key cog in the Hawthorn engine room.
National List and Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie said he was excited by the youngster’s progression.
“Cam continues to flourish and show us all what he’s capable of with greater responsibility throughout the midfield,” McKenzie said.
“Having worked really hard to add further size and improve his running ability, Cam is now impacting games on a much more consistent basis and becoming a key contributor in our senior side.
“At 22, we’re really pleased with the trajectory of his footy and remain very excited about what his future looks like at Hawthorn.”
