Two Hawks are set to face fitness tests ahead of the club's Round 2 clash with Port Adelaide this Sunday afternoon.

Jasmine Fleming is looking to overcome a minor hamstring complaint, while Najwa Allen is nursing a rolled ankle suffered in the VFLW last weekend.

High Performance Manager Aaron Kellett also provided an update on Hannah Looney, Mackenzie Eardley and Maya Dear who are all inching closer to a return, while Elli Symonds is steadily ramping up her training.

Najwa Allen (Ankle) – Test

“Naj rolled her ankle in the first quarter of the VFLW match on the weekend. She was able to finish the game but it was a bit sore and puffy, but clinically it's better today. She's actually done part of the training session today, looks really good. So you know we'll look to main train on Thursday, and we'll make a decision on her, but right now, she looks pretty positive.”

Jasmine Fleming (Hamstring) – Test

“Jas just had some hamstring awareness after the game which she reported to physios, we've managed that for the first couple of days after that game. She's presented clinically much better today. She was able to get running and do some partial skills today. We'll make a decision on what her training looks like on Thursday, which will help inform her availability for this weekend.”

Hannah Looney (Foot) – 1-2 weeks

“Hannah's made some made some really good progress in the last few sessions. Some of her running loading that are up towards the match values we're looking for. We've progressed some of her change of direction stuff with her with her plantar fascia and her pain experiences is reducing, her function's improving. We've still got a few steps to work through to make sure Hannah's feeling really ready to perform, but we think she's still, you know, 1 to 2 weeks maximum away, I think at this stage.”

Mackenzie Eardley (Achilles) – 1-2 weeks

“Mack's had a good couple of sessions in a row now. Her Achilles is clinically pain-free now, the paratenon, the sheath around that Achilles has settled down. We've been able to get some high-speed running back into her, she's looking great and we've got the football back involved in her in a modified skills environment. We've set some pretty clear targets on what we think Mack needs to hit before we think she's going to be ready, and ready to perform at AFLW level. But right now, if she if she's on track for that, we think she's probably about 1 to 2 weeks away for availability.”

Maya Dear (Leg) – 1-2 weeks

“Also really good. We did a follow-up scan on Maya’s tibia this morning and that's looking really positive. That allows us to continue with our loading progressions that we have in place. We’ll step through that carefully and progressively, we want to make sure when she returns, she's in a good position to do so. But at this stage, we think she's probably 1 to 2 weeks away from some involvement in football again.”

Elli Symonds (Foot) – 4 weeks

“Yeah, great to see Ellie back on the training track with the main group. It's been a long road for her, and she's done a really good job of getting herself to this point. We've got a program in place that's going to step her loads up progressively, probably over about a 4-week period. We'll make a decision around whether we think we might use the scrimmages for some part of that loading plan, but at this stage we think she's about 4 weeks away from AFLW availability.”
