Hawthorn forward Jack Gunston appears a likely inclusion into Hawthorn’s side that takes on Geelong on Sunday.

Gunston missed last week’s win over Fremantle with leg soreness but is considered an almost-definite starter for this weekend’s blockbuster clash.

For the first time this year, the Hawthorn match committee will be naming a team off the back of consecutive wins so how that impacts selection will be a point of interest.

With no injuries coming out of the game in Launceston, there is no certainty on anyone missing out but there are also a number of players jostling for a senior opportunity at VFL level.

On-baller James Cousins was Box Hill’s leading disposal getter in Box Hill’s win over Frankston, with the youngster posing as an option if Alastair Clarkson opts to combat the Cat’s all-star midfield with an extra runner.

Ben McEvoy has shouldered the ruck burden single-handedly over the past fortnight to good effect, but the strong form of Jon Ceglar and Marc Pittonet (21 disposals, 6 tackles, 53 hit-outs, 1 goal at VFL level on the weekend) might cause Clarkson to ponder his ruck structure.
