Mitch Lewis stepped up, wrapped his two big hands around it and claimed the key forward spot of the future in 2019.

Lewis put together an extremely promising 2019 campaign which showcased his pack-marking ability as well as a distinct goal kicking nous.

At just 20 years of age, Lewis averaged 2.3 contested marks per game this year, the fourth-best average of any player in the competition.

He also sat eighth for average marks inside the forward 50 league-wide, meaning when he was grabbing it, he was grabbing it in dangerous positions.

Naturally, this led to scoreboard impact.

Lewis kicked a goal in all bar one of his 12 senior appearances this year and booted multiple goals on six occasions.
