Ahead of triple J's Hottest 100 countdown this weekend, the boys have had their say on which song will claim the coveted number one spot, with one song proving a favourite amongst the playing group.

After winning triple J's Album of the Year, Spacey Jane's tune Booster Seat appears in the box seat to snatch the top place.

And if resident Hawks music guy James Worpel's opinion is anything to go by, this will be what happens.

Worpel is also backed up by teammates Harry Pepper and Denver Grainger-Barras in support of the Perth group.

Dylan Moore has looked elsewhere with his tip, nominating Heatwave by Glass Animals as his numero uno.

Draftee Jack Saunders thinks Tones and I will make a return to the upper echelons of the countdown with her hit Fly Away.

As for Tom Mitchell and Ben McEvoy, they've both proven a little out of touch with their selections.

Mitchell went with Pizza Guy by Touch Sensitive - undoubtedly a banger - but unlikely to figure given it came out in 2013.

While Big Boy's choice of an old classic A Pub with No Beer by Slim Dusty also appears a long shot given it first hit eardrums in the late 1950s.

Flume has featured in the top 10 on six occasions in the past and Connor Downie thinks he can claim top spot with The Difference this year.

Among other suggestions, Jack Scrimshaw went with Drake's Laugh Now, Cry Later, Will Day opted for So Done by The Kid LAROI, while drivers license by Olivia Rodrigo has caught Josh Morris' attention.
