Hawthorn will roll out a side full of youthful exuberance and promise when it takes on North Melbourne in its final dress rehearsal ahead of Round 1 on Saturday.

Draftees Connor Downie and Tyler Brockman have earned their call-up in the sole AAMI Community Series hit-out, with Lachlan Bramble, fresh off joining the Hawks as part of the pre-season supplementary selection period, also set to take his place in the side.

Hawks fans will relish seeing recruits Tom Phillips and Kyle Hartigan in the brown and gold for the first time, while Jacob Koschitzke will line up in the forward line as he continues his pursuit of an AFL debut.

Head of Football Rob McCartney says the club was excited to unleash some young talent.

“It is exciting for our club to have two new draftees in Connor and Tyler playing for the brown and gold this weekend, with both enjoying strong summers in their first pre-season. When you add Lachlan, Tom and Kyle you can see that our members and fans will get and good look at our future when we run out at Arden Street tomorrow.” McCartney said.

“The game itself represents a great opportunity for all those selected to have a final tune-up ahead of Round 1 in two weeks’ time.

“It will also be wonderful to see some of our members back watching on from the sidelines and cheering the boys on.”

North Melbourne will host the Hawks at Arden St Oval on Saturday March 6 at 4.10pm.
