JARRYD ROUGHEAD – INDUCTEE

Roughead arrived at Hawthorn as a raw country kid from Gippsland at Pick 2 in the 2004 National Draft. 15 years later, he finished his career as a Coleman Medallist, a dual All-Australian, and four-time premiership player.

Across 283 games, Roughead showcased his remarkable versatility as a dominant forward and pinch-hitting ruckman, booting 578 goals to sit comfortable among the Club's all-time greats.

Roughead’s on-field impact peaked during the three-peat era, claiming the Coleman Medal (2013), a pair of All-Australian blazers (2013 & 2014), and two of his three Hawthorn leading goalkicker awards (2013, 2014 & 2017).

Roughead’s legacy extends far beyond his glittering CV following his courageous battle against a reoccurring melanoma. His inspirational return coincided with his appointment as Hawthorn Captain in 2017, going on to serve as skipper for two seasons.

PETER SCHWAB – INDUCTEE

Debuting as a 19-year-old in 1980, Peter Schwab established himself as a vital cog in Hawthorn’s dominant dynasty through the 80s, celebrated for his versatility and an elite ability to limit the influence of star opposition players.

Schwab’s stellar playing career yielded 171 games and three premierships (1983, 1986 & 1988), culminating in an outstanding performance in the centre for the Hawks in the '88 Grand Final triumph.

His profound impact on the club continued well beyond his playing days. After serving as an Assistant Coach, Schwab returned as Senior Coach from 2000 to 2004, guiding the Hawks back to the finals and taking them to within nine points of a Grand Final appearance in 2001.

Schwab is one of just six Senior Coaches in Hawthorn’s history to lead the club in 100 or more games.

MICHAEL MONCRIEFF – INDUCTEE

Moncrieff stands as one of Hawthorn's most prolific goalkickers, thrilling fans throughout the 1970s and early 1980s with his strong marking and penetrative right-foot kick.

Across 224 games in the brown and gold, Moncrieff booted 629 goals — placing him fourth on the Club's all-time goalkicking list behind only Jason Dunstall, Leigh Matthews, and Peter Hudson.

He consistently proved to be a dangerous focal point inside forward 50, topping Hawthorn's goalkicking tally across five seasons, including booting 10 goals in a single match on three separate occasions.

A two-time premiership player in 1976 and 1978, Moncrieff’s standout 1976 season saw him kick a remarkable 97 goals. He also holds the joint Hawthorn record for most goals in a final, having kicked eight goals against Collingwood in the 1978 Qualifying Final.

PETER HABY – INDUCTEE

For more than four decades, Peter Haby has played an instrumental role in preserving and honouring the rich history of the famous brown and gold.

A foundation member of the Hawks Forever historical committee in 1992, Haby was the driving force behind the creation of the Hawks Museum. His tireless dedication saw the museum open at Glenferrie Oval in 1994, before successfully spearheading its $125,000 fundraising effort and relocation to Waverley Park in 2007.

Serving as the official Club Historian and Museum Curator, Haby's meticulous work and authorship of several club history books have built one of the finest collections of sporting memorabilia in Australia. Thanks to his lifelong devotion, the Hawks Museum remains the only accredited museum in the AFL that is open to the public.

In recognition of his immeasurable impact and lifetime commitment to preserving the sport's history, Haby was rightfully awarded the prestigious Jack Titus Award in 2023 for his outstanding service to the game.
