Hawthorn defender James Frawley will miss the Hawks’ next three games after he injured his hamstring in the side’s loss to St Kilda on Sunday.

Frawley hurt his hamstring in the second quarter against the Saints and played no further part in the game.

The Hawks defensive stocks took a further hit when captain Ben Stratton suffered a concussion in the third quarter.

Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd said Stratton will have to prove his fitness ahead of the team’s all-important clash with Geelong on Easter Monday.

“We will monitor and track Ben over the course of the week and see how he progresses,” Boyd said.

“But at this stage he will be a test to play.”

Emerging midfielder James Cousins will also be monitored closely this week after hurting his ankle against the Saints.

In more positive news, Liam Shiels is nearing his return to the field with the hope that he will be available for the Round 6 clash with Carlton, while Darren Minchington is closing in on his first outing in the brown and gold following a hamstring injury.
