Hawthorn’s future is beginning to take shape.

There are currently 21 Hawks players 26 years old or younger locked in for 2020 and beyond.

Dynamic midfield duo Tom Mitchell and Jaeger O’Meara are the longest-term signings of this group with both committed until at least the end of 2023, while Chad Wingard is signed until 2022.

A number of Hawthorn youngsters continued to show promise in 2019, most notably James Worpel and Mitch Lewis.

Worpel had the most disposals of any Hawk this season, while Lewis booted 20 goals from his 12 senior appearances this year.

Dylan Moore, Changkuoth Jiath and Ollie Hanrahan were the Hawks’ three debutants this year and all three are already locked in for 2020.

Swingman Tim O’Brien recently agreed to a two-year contract extension after he also had a breakout campaign in 2019.
