Hawthorn has locked away Luke Breust, with the three-time premiership player shunning free agency to extend his contract until the end of 2021.

Breust has cemented himself as one of the competition’s premier small forwards, booting 271 career goals.

Since making his debut in 2011, he has notched up 140 games and played a pivotal role in all three premiership sides from 2013-2015.

Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright said:

“Securing Luke for a further four years is terrific news for the club,” he said.

“He is a really important player for us and has played a crucial role in the forward line for the last six years.”

“To reach a deal with Luke before the season gets underway is really pleasing and we look forward to seeing him in the brown and gold for many years to come.”
