Hawthorn will play in Darwin for the second time in the club’s history when it takes on the Gold Coast Suns on Thursday night to open Sir Doug Nicholls Round.

It’s bound to be an exciting match-up with both teams off to a strong start to the 2025 season, with the third-placed Hawks sitting 7-2, while the fourth-placed Suns are 6-2.

Hawthorn will wear its 2025 Indigenous Guernsey which was designed by proud Noongar and Yamatji man and Hawthorn's Indigenous Player Development Manager, Jamie Bennell. The guernsey celebrates 100 years of First Nations history since the club’s entry into the VFL/AFL. The full story of the guernsey can be found HERE.

Midfielder Massimo D’Ambrosio will also play his 50th game at AFL level, 16 of those for Essendon and the rest in the brown and gold since joining the club ahead of the 2024 season.
