The biggest crowd Chad Wingard has played in front of is 74,856.

It was the 2014 preliminary final and a 21-year-old Wingard joined a Port Adelaide side looking to end the Hawks' premiership defence.

The Hawks ultimately broke the Power’s heart, victorious by three points as they progressed to another grand final and, ultimately, a second consecutive flag.

Wingard remembers the parochial sounds of the brown and gold faithful on the night – memories that may have played a part in the two-time All Australian’s arrival at the Ricoh Centre last October.

“That was pretty unbelievable - I just remember it was really loud,” Wingard said.

“So, to play in front of whatever crowd we get this weekend, I’m sure I’ll take it all in.

“But once you get over that line, you tune it out and just focus on your game.”

To make the occasion even bigger, Wingard, a born entertainer, will celebrate his 150th game in the Easter Monday clash.

“Obviously, as players, we rely on that energy from the supporters, it gives us a second wind.”
