For more than four decades, Peter Haby has played an instrumental role in preserving and honouring the rich history of the famous brown and gold.

A foundation member of the Hawks Forever historical committee in 1992, Haby was the driving force behind the creation of the Hawks Museum. His tireless dedication saw the museum open at Glenferrie Oval in 1994, before successfully spearheading its $125,000 fundraising effort and relocation to Waverley Park in 2007.

Serving as the official Club Historian and Museum Curator, Haby's meticulous work and authorship of several club history books have built one of the finest collections of sporting memorabilia in Australia. Thanks to his lifelong devotion, the Hawks Museum remains the only accredited museum in the AFL that is open to the public.

In recognition of his immeasurable impact and lifetime commitment to preserving the sport's history, Haby was rightfully awarded the prestigious Jack Titus Award in 2023 for his outstanding service to the game. In 2026 he received the Victorian Museums & Galleries Lifetime Achievement Award.
